Color Palettes that Complement Limestone

Because limestone comes in neutral colors, it can practically go with any color scheme that you want. No matter the color palette you choose, you can find a natural limestone color that will complement it. Limestone varies in color from beiges, to browns, to whites, to blues, to greens and more. Below are just a few examples of what colors you can use to decorate your home or paint your walls when you have limestone custom home features such as limestone countertops, limestone stairs, limestone fireplaces, limestone door surrounds, or otherwise.

Beige Limestone

Limestone can vary from light tan, to beige, to brown, to sand, to white and more. These hues are fantastic with several different colors palates. A few of our favorites that work well with the beige limestone family are:

  • Beige, warm brown and sage green
  • Beige, dark brown and blue grey
  • Warm brown, white and grey
  • Warm brown, cool blue and white
  • Beige, yellow and white

Grey Limestone

Light gray to white limestone looks great with darker and lighter shades of grey. If you want a pop of color in the midst of greys and silvers then blue, purple or green are a wonderful choice. These are cooler colors that set a beautiful tone in any room. Shades of purple and blue give a regal appearance, whereas green provides a more earthy and nature-like tone. If you want a more dramatic look, use a royal blue or deep purple. Yet, if you want a subtler look you can use a calming sky blue or lavender. The same goes for green. A dark evergreen will give the room a more drastic and forest-like look, whereas a mint or sea foam green will lighten it up and give the room a more airy feel.

On the other hand, if you prefer a warm pop of color rather than cooler colors, then you may want to consider using reds, oranges and gold. These colors provide a striking and dramatic look, as they contrast with the natural color of limestone. With the cool tone of limestone and the warm color of your walls or décor, you can bring a lovely color balance to your room.
